Very warm greetings from Viet Nam Embassy in Canada!
Set up in 1976, the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam has for long served as a bridge for the friendship and cooperation between Viet Nam and Canada as well as promoting Viet Nam’s beauty in the land of maple leaves.
The bilateral relations have advanced forward steadily over the last nearly 50 years and in 2017 it marked a new high with the Comprehensive Partnership Framework announced by the two countries’ leaders, enhancing further cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, tourism, educational, cultural and people-to-people exchanges, and advancing cooperation in mitigation of climate change impacts and environment protection. In multilateral dimension, Viet Nam and Canada are members of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP). The two countries are working closely in ASEAN-led cooperation mechanisms like East Asia Summit (EAS), ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF), to name a few.
In the post-pandemic international landscape evolving more unpredictably than ever before, I am confident that the two countries find in each other reliable partners sharing strategic benefits. Working together, we can diversify our trading and financial relations on the one hand, and fruitfully enhancing the presence in each other’s respective region on the other.
Under the motto of “being a friend, a reliable partner, and a responsible member of the international community”, Viet Nam has boasted its diplomatic and economic relations with various countries worldwide and has been steadily assuming greater roles in international and regional fora , including Chairmanship of ASEAN in 2020 and non-permanent membership of the United Nations Security Council in 2020 – 2021.
Viet Nam is also one of the fastest-growing open economies in Asia. With more than 90 million hardworking population and a party in 15 Free Trade Agreements, Viet Nam is poised to be a big market and a new manufacturing hub in the region. Besides, Viet Nam is a country of rich culture with 54 nationals, 21 UNESCO-inscribed heritages, 7 heritages of world memory, 9 biosphere reserves and 2 global geoparks.
The Embassy is ready to offer information about the country of Viet Nam, the bilateral relations, and consular services for Canadian and other international friends as well as the Vietnamese community in Canada.
