Welcome to the website of the Embassy of Vietnam in Canada.
I arrived in Canada at a good time, when both Viet Nam and Canada celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (1973-2023). Vietnamese people have always viewed Canada as a true friend and a Pacific partner. Canada has been by our side in good times and in bad times. The solid cooperation between our peoples has helped to bridge time and geographical distances.
On the path of Vietnam’s development and international integration, Canada has always been one of the most important partners, the second largest trading partner, after the US, in the American continent. Meanwhile, Viet Nam is Canada’s largest trading partner in ASEAN and Canada’s gateway to Southeast Asia and Asia Pacific. With its population of nearly 100 million people, a stable business environment and enabling legal framework for enterprises to thrive, Viet Nam is offering business opportunities for foreign investment, and has become the ideal destination for many of world’s leading corporations.
Viet Nam continues to be an attractive destination for international tourists. A country with a history that goes back thousands or years, a nation with strong identity and traditional values, a home to 8 world natural and cultural heritages and 15 intangible cultural heritages recognized by UNESCO. It is truly a land of miracles with heart touching landscapes, rich cultural heritages and worldwide famous cuisine.
Another strength in our bilateral relation is the Vietnamese community of nearly 300,000 people living, working and choosing Canada as their new homeland, while always have feelings towards the motherland of Viet Nam. In the words of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, this strong, intimate bond between the two peoples “will always be the foundation for everything we have done, are doing and will continue to build together.”
