Strengthening parliamentary cooperation between Viet Nam and Canada

March 30 – April 05, 2019: A delegation from the Social Affairs Committee of the National Assembly of Viet Nam led by Deputy Head of Committee Bui Sy Loi visits Canada.

In Quebec, the delegation paid a courtesy call to President of the National Assembly of Quebec Francois Paradis and worked with Vice President of the National Assembly of Quebec Maryse Gaudreault as well as leaders of the Committee on Labour and the Economy, the Committee on Health and Social Services, Laval University.

In Ottawa, the delegation met with Senator Raynell Andreychuk, Chairwoman of the Canadian Standing Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade, and leaders of the Public Health Agency of Canada, Department for Women and Gender Equality.

During the meetings, the two sides exchanged experiences in law building in the areas of social safety, employment, health and gender equality; achievements and difficulties in implementing the commitments under the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
